We invited Dr. Akira Tajima of Yahoo! JAPAN Research Institute to deliver a speech, and Yahoo! JAPAN hosted a lunch meeting on July 18th.
Web-based businesses provide various services, and huge quantities of data are generated and accumulated daily. It is important to analyze this data with cutting-edge technologies to convert the results into services. For example, Yahoo! JAPAN currently offers more than 100 different services. Dr. Tajima provided a technical discussion on their data processing infrastructure, utilization of their results, and case studies.
