Workshop 2015.05.26
During the May Plenary Meeting, the topics "Internship Reports," "News regarding Summer School," and "Creative Research Proposals" were discussed.
First, Jessica Beltran (first inaugural class registrant) participated in an internship at Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International and reported on two projects that she was involved with:
1. EMG-Based Human's Elbow Torque Estimation
2. Adaptive EEG Decoder
Next, plans and preparations for summer school to be held at Istanbul Technical University in Turkey from June 29 to July 10 were discussed. In addition to the travel itinerary and confirmation of the lecture schedule, preparations for the cultural exchange were confirmed.
Finally, the research project proposals made by students who applied to the Creative Education and Research Fund were presented. The following projects were proposed:
1. Optimal Cost Allocation of Web Media Contents through Marketing Science and Operations Research
2. An Object Retrieval Software Based on Android
3. Materials Informatics by Machine Learning
4. Real-time Cutting Process Control System
5. Proposal of Visualization Method in Research Field
Each proposal was evaluated based on utility as well as possibility of implementation, and the selected research will be executed throughout the year.
