Introductory guidance for Summer School 2017

Prof. Ratana Rujiravanit from Chulalongkorn University held an introductory guidance for the Summer School 2017, which will be held in Thailand. She introduced Thailands geography, climate, and so on. Furthermore, she discussed important points to be noted when staying at the Summer Schools location.

Proposals for “Creative Research Project”

The following three projects were proposed for this years' Creative Research Project. Each proposal has been evaluated by students, internal professors, and business mentors. The evaluation was based on four criteria related to the problem definition, the proposed solution, and so on. The selected proposals will be part of research during this year.

  1. Legal AI: Contracts Check A.I. System
    proposed by Ken Matsushita
    Abstract:
This project aims to develop an AI system, which can automatically check and comment contracts agreements. Using actual contract agreements and comments provided by lawyers, a machine learning approach will be trained to check new contracts and propose relevant corrections.
  2. Effective Advertisement System Using Attention Time
    proposed by Etsutaro Kawabe
    Abstract:
This project aims to develop a system showing relevant advertisement during short amounts of free time like when waiting for an elevator. The attention span of each user for different advertisements is measured using a camera. This data is then used to recommend an ideal advertisement for each user.
  3. ASSURE Maps: Intelligently Building HD Road Network Maps for Autonomous Cars
    proposed by Hatem Abdelhameed Darweesh
    Abstract:
This project aims to develop an API for creating maps used for autonomous driving. In addition to a comprehensive workflow for assisting the creation of maps, the system will be trained for automatic creation of maps using user feedback.
