May Plenary Meeting Announcement

In the May Plenary Meeting, a progress report on the AI Summer Camp 2018 (Global Challenge I) and the proposals for this year's Creative Research Project, were discussed.

Progress report on AI Summer Camp 2018

There was a progress report on the AI Summer Camp 2018 which will take place in Hanoi. First, an overview of the program and schedule were announced. Then, students which plan to participate the Summer Camp reported on the topic of their presentation, related to Japanese culture. In the end, there was a discussion between students and faculty members.

Topic Traditional games in Japan

Bao Trung Chu (1st inaugural class) and Viet Anh Nguyen (2nd inaugural class) introduced Vietnam and Hanoi, presenting how to use the public transportation system and things to keep in mind when staying in Vietnam.

Proposals for Creative Research Project

The following projects were proposed for this year's Creative Research Project. Each proposal has been evaluated by students, internal professors, and business mentors. The evaluation was based on four criteria related to the problem definition, the proposed solution, and so on. The selected proposals will be part of research during this year.

  1. Hack the Hashtag
    Proposed by Etsutaro Kamino
    Abstract :
    This project will develop a software to predict hashtags for going viral on Instagram. For an input image, image processing will be used to recommend the best selection of hashtags. The recommended hashtags can be rated, from which the system will improve its accuracy in a feedback loop.
