When I was in high school in Korea, I decided to go abroad, Japan, because I was interested in vehicle which is one of the major department of Japan. So I came to Nagoya 6 years ago, and I graduated the mechanical and aerospace engineering department of the undergraduate school of Nagoya University. I met the information science when I was doing my graduation study about Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control which calculating the velocity of vehicle using the environmental information from other cars, and became to want to learn more about information science. This program is really good chance to cooperate with other students beyond our major fields. I hope we make new value based on Information Science which is our common basis.

Research: the Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control considering the group behavior in mixed traffic

My research is about cooperative adaptive cruise control(CACC) in mixed traffic with automated/human-driven car. This mixed traffic situation is considerable because this situation can be in near future as CACC system gets used widely. It's same to traditional CACC systems in the meaning of cars driven automately sharing their information to each other using wireless communication. It considers, however, the movement of human-driven cars in the group, estimating this by calculating predicted acceleration of human-driven car based on its mathematical model which is identified with its data. It is important to consider the movement of cars which are not in CACC group because it affects the performance of CACC system, and the stability of the platoon related with safety.
